Limps from post to post
Wondering what hopeless future
Is to come for him
It's all too much for one
When the punishment comes
The teasing never stops
A rejected question
Never answered
Rebounds in his head
His heart is uselessly shattered
Like the window by his bed
He vows never to tell the truth
Nor smile honestly
He jokes to the end
At any thought of happy ending
